How does our lawn irrigation system work?
The front yards of building 1, and the front and back yards of buildings 2 and 3 have in-ground sprinklers to water the grass and landscaping. There are three separate irrigation systems, one for each building (1. 2, and 3) in Hickory Grove. One homeowner in each building has an irrigation controller in their garage, and the water for irrigation is billed to that homeowner, and the HOA reimburses them for the cost of the water. In building 1, the system is in unit #4535; in building 2 it is in unit #4441; and in building 3 it is in unit #4440. Each spring, our irrigation contractor will need access to the garage and the basement utility room in each of these three units to turn on the irrigation for the season, and again in the fall to winterize the system. Sprinklers will typically be set to run overnight, but may need to be adjusted based on rainfall, service, or other factors during the season. Reimbursement for water can be paid on a monthly, quarterly, or annual basis. The reimbursement amounts are calculated based on information on each homeowner’s monthly bills from Des Moines Water Works. Homeowners may enter the appropriate information on the spreadsheet located HERE to calculate the reimbursement amount. Please inform the treasurer when you have done so and the HOA will issue a check.
